Color is Queen

A 3-Month Online Course
with Yana Beylinson
Begins April 15th, 2026

ABOUT THE COURSE

You became an artist because you’re drawn to color. But color isn’t easy to manage — it can become unruly, even overwhelming. Your work may be missing the energy you long to infuse into it. Mixing becomes rushed, and the color lands… dull.

What if I told you that a deeper connection with color can give your work a new life? And it will propel your creative practice forward in a BIG WAY.

Color has a mystical quality. It is pure emotion—something we feel, responding on a deep, instinctual level. From Josef Albers to Wes Anderson, color is continually crowned the main event: the force that defines mood, meaning, and intensity within an image.

In this online course, we will explore color as both subject and sovereign. Over three months, you’ll enter color through multiple points of access—technical, conceptual, and spiritual—building a rich, embodied understanding of how color functions in your work.

WHAT TO EXPECT

ON A TECHNICAL LEVEL…

We will engage in a series of color exercises and studies that increase in complexity over time. Working in oil or acrylic paint, we will focus deeply on the art of mixing. Through collage, we’ll experiment freely with color relationships, contrast, harmony, and surprise.

ON A CONCEPTUAL LEVEL…

We will examine the emotive power of specific colors and color families. How does color communicate? How can intentional color choices help your work speak more clearly, more boldly, more truthfully?

ON A SPIRITUAL LEVEL…

We will slow down and listen. How do we feel color? How do we attune to its vibrations, its energy, its presence? This course is an invitation to experience color not as an accessory—but as the driving force of your visual language.
